Ronald C. Alberts Jr., CFA, is President of Alberts Investment Management Inc. (AIM). Alberts formed AIM, an independent fee-only SEC registered investment advisor, on June 1, 2005.
Mr. Alberts was formerly Director of Fixed Income at Northwestern Mutual (NM) subsidiary Mason Street Advisors LLC (MSA). Alberts was employed by NM and its subsidiaries for 21 years, with 19 years of combined investment experience in the Fixed Income and Common Stock Departments.
Alberts managed the Mason Street Municipal Fund for more than eight years and achieved five year performance (ending May 31, 2005) in the top 19% of managers in the Lipper Municipal Debt Universe. For 15 years, Mr. Alberts also managed institutional fixed income assets, which grew to over $4 billion. Alberts participated in setting allocation strategies for many of MSA's client accounts and held key positions with MSA's Fixed Income Strategy Group. Alberts participated in portfolio model design, back-testing, optimization, and implementation of various fixed income and equity investment strategies.
Mr. Alberts received his B.S. degree in business administration and computer science in 1984 from Carroll College and his M.B.A. in 1989 from Marquette University. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (C.F.A.) designation in 1992.
